Sula sula

These are the smallest of more than half a dozen booby species. Red-footed boobies are strong flyers and can travel up to 93 miles (150 kilometers) in search of food. They often hunt in large groups, and are nimble enough to snare flying fish from the air. Boobies are well adapted for diving and feature long bills, lean and aerodynamic bodies, closeable nostrils, and long wings which they wrap around their bodies before entering the water. Red-footed boobies use these attributes to plunge-dive and capture fish that they spot from above with their sharp eyes. At night, they may dive for schooling squid that are visible because of their phosphorescence. Once in the water, the birds use their webbed feet to aid swimming.

Hello manyee,
What a lovely and colorful pair of Red-footed Boobies you have photographed. The entire image is filled with vivid colors and the detail is exceptional. Their faces with the turquoise eye patches and bills is certainly an eye catcher and very attractive. Love the composition and exposure is right on the money. A real beauty Manyee!!!
The only minor niche is a little noise in the sky, but this can easily be removed.

Nice colorful shot!

Stunning composition, Manyee! What a beautiful balance between yellow notes of flowers, red legs magenta, and turquoise; coloring peaks and eye rings. Strong colors are balanced off the brown plumage of these sula sula and the arbor. The objects are intertwined and interact occupying the lower left diagonal, while a heavenly sky brings emptiness and calm in the other diagonal space ... Great balance. Great job Manyee Desandies. Congratulations ...

My affection for you,
