I found this couple (and some of their friends) on the leafs of Cistus incanus -Pink Rockrose.
Used a closed aperture to get more DOF and have these guys in focus.
Not sure what they are so any ideas of IDs are welcome.
They were quite small - 3 or 4mm each.

WOW - that was a fast response from Michal - cedryk:

they are members of family Chrysomelidae - leaf beetles, subfamily Hispinae.
The species most likely is Dicladispa testacea (Linnaeus, 1767), which lives in Mediterranean region, north to Bulgaria.

Hola Shir,

Hello Shir!
Amazing picture! In Poland we have another species from this subfamily - Hispela atra, but not so colourful (it is black).
This is really very good macro with all spines well seen! :)
One beetle is great but here we can see a pair during their "love strory" ;)
TFS and best regards,
Radomir

Superb macro shot.

Cześć Shir,
Niesamowite makro, Bardzo klarowne i ostre zdjęcie i soczyste kolory.

Regards from Poland - BratAni

Hola Shir,

Aptly chosen caption to your interesting picture, Shir :-)!
The guy on top must be quite uncomfortable.
The picture brings out the "personalities" of these bugs very well.

The structure of leafs is in harmony with the spikey bugs!! Well done and congratulations, Didier.

Hi Shir,
Excellent macro. I like the POV & comp of these two spikey lovers :)
Very nice color, exposure, sharpness, detail, and DOF. The leaf detail and green color adds well.
Very well done.

Hi Shir,
This really is an amazing one.....quite incredible how you noticed these spiky chaps.Extraordinary that this species doesn't become extinct because of the difficulties of making babies LOL!Great use of the macro lens with good DOF and lovely colours.Got to be a favorite!
