[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Portuguese arrived in Brazil in 1500. They are officially considered the people who discovered the country. When they arrived, they reached a place called “Porto Seguro” (Safe Haven), for the place offered great conditions to the Portuguese fleet at the time.

Today, Porto Seguro has around 130,000 inhabitants. According to the locals I talked to, tourism is an activity that takes place all over the year. Of course, in summer (it's summer in Brazil) the vibration is bigger, as well as during carnival.

One of the things I like the most in Porto Seguro is this: there are beaches to those who enjoy crowds and like action and to those who prefer a calm atmosphere. If one wants a quiet beach, he/she can go to the beaches in Arraial D'Ajuda, for example, a village right beside Porto Seguro. If one wants Axé Music (a very popular rhythm in Brazil) and people all around, the right choice are the beaches in Porto Seguro.

(I took this picture from an "ultraleve", but I don't know how to write the name of it in English.) I can assure you the view from there above is extremely beautiful.

Updated note: after Claudine's words, I decided to give the word "ultralight" a try, on www.yourdictionary.com . And she's right. Therefore, the picture was taken from an ultralight. Thanks, Claudine.

Obrigado!!!
Ricardo

Hi Livio,
Beautiful seascape shot. I love the color of the water. What a view. You see the curvature of the earth. Great sense of depth.

Hello Livios,
This is the “Big Blue” (it's a name of a French movie, “Le Grand Bleu” :) This is stunning! Before reading your note, I was wondering how you could have taken this picture. I understand now. I guess that the word you meant is “ultra-léger” in French but I don't know what it is in English neither; "ultra-light" maybe :))) I can imagine what you saw up there, wow! This is a very beautiful picture. TFS,
Claudine

Hi Livio

Although this photo was not taken in the morning, but mid-afternoon, it nonetheless reminded me of Donovan’s song ‘Colours’. In the second verse he sang:

Blue's the colour of the sky-y,
In the morning, when we rise,
In the morning, when we rise.
That's the time, that's the time,
I love the best
.

I think he must have written those lyrics with a view like this in mind. A truly mind boggling seascape.

The composition is remarkable with the frame almost divided into 1/3 zones on the horizontal plane. The turquoise (aqua-greenish) piece of ocean cuts in at the lower 1/3 and the horizon of the ocean lies ± on the 2/3 plane. The tri-angular piece of land provides amazing interest and variation, further it is just the great big blue augmented by the magnificent sky. Wonderful colours and a perfect exposure wound it all up into a spectacular visual impact.

Wonderful work and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Hola Livio.- Me agradan mucho los colores de esta hermosa playa que hoy nos presentas aqui. El azul del cielo y de las aguas se ven maravillosas. Saludos Luis52.

Hi Livio,
So I must say: A very high POV here :-)
This is a great symphony of blues and greens.
I like a lot the composition made with the shore and the horizon.
Very interesting note also,
Congratulations, thanks for share and best regards,
JM

Hello Livio, hope you are well.
I like the wide open view with beautiful shades of sea & sky. The ports leading edge slices nicely into the pie ;)
A simple but very effective composition.
Very well done.

What I would give to be in this shot, looks like a gorgeous day! Well taken.

Greg

Hello Lívio,

I hope you had an excellent holiday, but I am sure you had. This is a really nice seascape picture. The color of the water is very beautiful and the composition is nice. Did you really take this picture from a flying ultralight? Was it easy to take your 20D and lens with you?

Regards,
Pieter
