Early morning. At the mouth of the Glenelg River, Victoria, Australia. I see wild kangaroos regularly but rarely as tame as these two. They ignored me as I walked the beach and they kept drinking. I walked closer. Eventually I got to within about five metres and then walked away. The water is brackish (tidal) here and it surprised me that they would drink it. Grey Kangaroos.

Hello Barry, this is a fine picture. Very good capture of this moment. There's a good atmosphere to with the light and the parent looking over the juvenile. Lovely golden tones, well done.

Hello Barry,
what a great moment you captured here. I would have thought it was a large tele you used but instead is a 17-85 zoom. I wonder if it would have added to to picture if we could see the horizon? But that's just a thought...I like the picture a lot.
Regards, Jacob

The light and the composition of this scene are really lovely, Barry.
The golden highlights are wonderful.
I even like the relative dark forms of the roos.
Very serene.
TFS. : )

Barry what beautiful mellow colours! Last year when I was in OZ, friends who had raised an orphaned roo there introduced me
to "Sammy", Sammy had a joey in her pouch then... I can well imagine the pair being at this water's edge!

Memories are flooding back! Thanx for the moment!
So long, Jay

great composition, real artistic, TFS Ori

What a beautiful, peaceful scene! I love the light, composition, reflection and the soft curves of the shoreline.

Hi Barry,
Just an all around superb capture. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Barry,
A beauty and very evocative image of these kangaroos.
I like the atmosphere and the mood you got it, with that golden tonal harmony and the subtle illumination.
Great reflections and like the almost equal pose of both animals.
Excellent composition.
Congratulations and thanks for share,

Hi Barry :)
lovely shot. Great POV, nice colors and composition. Well done!

Hi Barry.
Having the two animals posed so similarly right together makes this a really interesting picture. I love the warm morning yellow cast on the whole scene and the shimmering light on the water. I like the undulating shore line that leads into the frame. Well done.

Excellent shot despite difficult light conditions. Kangaroos dark but details are still there.

Yes strange that they would drink this water. Very interesting informative note.

Hello Barry,

Congratulations for this great picture!! The composition here is remarkable and I like to see the kangaroo's reflection in the water! Maybe a lower pov can have been interesting...

Bye and TFS,

Beautiful! The colors of the kangaroos and sand and sun are lovely together.
