[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here we have a hoverfly, aka flower fly or mimic fly.

These flies have the appearance of a wasp and in that manner try to fool
potential preditors, who may have had unfortunate experiences with wasps...

Flower spiders however are not fooled, as I have seen
a hoverfly trapped by a crab-spider...

This hoverfly is busy on some cinquefoil, right after we had
a little bit of rain and everything was nice and fresh.

PS Following comments about compression problems I have done a "cut to he bone" crop,
which shows just the fly and the flower... The original post will be in WS.

Nice SHot Jay.Composition is good.Drops on the petals look good.Bee is a bit out of focus. But still nice shot.

Hello Jay,
I like both the beautiful yellow flowers and the Hover-fly, although the latter is a bit weak on focus. Nicely composed and good timing for the water drolets!

LOVE the yellow in this shot!!
Rich and rampant with opportunities for
a nice contrast with the black stripes of the mimic fly.
Nice to see the water droplets on the petals,
which add a nice dimension to the whole photo!!
