[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Australian Bush is difficult to photograph. It is such a busy, complex mess. It is full of textures, full of contrasts and high dynamic range. Yet, to walk through and to immerse yourself in it,is to love it. It feels so old. The Austalian light can be stark even early and late in the day. Here a bushfire has added to the complexity by producing black tree-trunks. This is a forest track at the base of the Grampians in Western Victoria. The Grampians are the southern tip/remnants of the Great Dividing Range that extends from Far North Queensland to Southern Victoria. They emerge from the great lava plains of Western Victoria and hence are a great attraction. A wonderous place.

Hi Barry!
Absolutely beautiful. The light is just perfect, the mood is also to be felt even through the screen.

HI Barry,
it's beautiful - like looking inside a fairy-tail. I like the perspective looking into the light, very well done, thanks

Hello, Barry. Wonderful image with great lighting and exposure, gives the impression of a cathedral...wonderful atmosphere. Know what you mean about stark light but this looks good. Well done. Regards, Roy.

Hello Barry,
It's really a nice place and nice backlight to use for the scene. However I don't think that this PS work was necessary here. It's nice as it is without any post-production...
Best greetings,

Directly from a Fairy Tale.

Great picture

Haviing the light at the far end of the road is of course what makes this image special. Exposure seems well managed. I'm not sure about the top. Something seems unnatural there.

Hi Barry,
Brilliant photo. The lighting and atmosphere are perfect. Good composition and POV. Well seen and captured!

Hi Barry,
Its great to see a photo of home and what a nice shot it is. I love the gum trees, especially the way they sprout branch straight out of the tree trunk after a fire(like the one on the middle right). Nice you captured the bush well,

Well done

Hello Barry
Very nice landscape,Perfect
lighting,Great composition,

Hi Barry ,
excellent work.
great light and very nice sharpness.
well composed.
beautiful colors.

G'day Barry
A glimps of the fresh leaves after the fire has added to the overall contrast of this picture. I also concur that the dark trunks have added a little more drama. Well done

This is a beautiful picture of the bush. Like you said, it's very difficult to photograph but I think you did a good job of it. I like that you were able to make everything but the leaves of the gum trees into black silohettes, so the colors of the rest of the forest could show through.
