Great shot and very artistic, I think you have to see it this size to get the full effect. The detail is great and the colours are lovely with a excellent blurry BG.

excellent shot but ID to species level will be very difficult

all I can say: it's a juvenile katydid (Tettigoniidae), perhaps a cone head (Conocephalinae)

just wait a few weeks and take a picture of an adult ! :))

I have never seen a red grasshopper before, and it looks so tiny ! And it is a cute little thing. Excellent details and beautiful colors, I love the contrast between the red insect and the green BG. Outstanding composition, POV and DOF. Very well done !

The picture is fantastic! I like a lot great vivid colours of this small larva of Orthoptera species (it would be really nice to know what species it is :>). Bravo also for the composition - it is simple great. POV and DOF are also very good.
The only thing I would like to change is to reduce a little noises :)
Anyway, very beautyful presentation!

such a nice photograph. the framing is too good. Peter (batu) is quite correct. it really looks lost in the universe! :)

well but, this is not a grasshopper, it's a bush-cricket nymph. both grasshoppers and crickets belong to the same order: Orthoptera, but they are quite different in structure and behaviour.
the adults are green-brown in colour.

the ID of this species is 'Conocephalus Melas'. they are from 'Tettigoniidae' family.
