One of the more beautiful birds we have visiting year round in our backyard. The Rufous Sided Towhee is approx. the same size as an American Robin, with a much more pleasing song. The scavenge the ground and through low bushes for food, but do fly up onto our deck and see what we are feeding the songbirds.

You are fortunate to have these beautiful birds living so close to you, I photographed my first Eastern Towhee just this past spring. The focus is super sharp and I love the fine facial detail. Nice eye contact and beautiful colors.
