Corncrake (Crex crex)
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Local breeding bird of Transylvania`s wet meadow and grassland habitats. |
"Declines in the population of the Corncrake have been reported from most states in the
breeding range in Europe. States in eastern Europe with lower intensity of agriculture tend
to have larger populations and higher population densities than states in western Europe...The largest Corncrake populations are in central
and eastern Europe, with more than 10,000 singing
M in Russia (over 400,000), Belarus (26,000-30,000),
and probably Ukraine (25,000-55,000) and several
thousand each in Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia,
Bulgaria and Romania, although several of these
countries have data of poor reliability." (Rhys E. Green, Gerard Rocamora & Norbert Schäffer: Populations, ecology and threats to the Corncrake Crex crex in Europe)

Super! Cred ca esti printre putinii care detin poza cu aceasta specie. Sunt curios cum ai reusit performanta.
Numai bine si felicitari!

Wonderful shot Baczo!
The bird looks so alive, we can feel the movement as it reaches upward with it's head to better see you, i guess :) And a focus well done through the grasses.
Rara captura si trebuie sa-ti spun ca si eu sunt tare curios cum ai reusit o astfel de imagine. Focusul, detaliile si culorile sunt bune.
