Brown Vine Snake
Oxybellis anaeus

Incredible looking snake with great speed that can out manuever most prey. It also blends in very well into the environment and in combination with its thin long body gives it a very high sucessful rate come feeding time. Found this beautiful snake up the Mosquito Coast while in Honduras.

Outstanding picture, Paul!

I wish we could see the fangs in the rear....

Hi Paul
Impressive snake shot, good timing, great colors, details and composition. It must have been hard to find one of these and not to mention take a photo of it in this decisive moment. Job well done, and thanks for sharing!
Regards Hedesan

Another impressive photo Paul.
The composition, the timing, the colours and the sharpness are excellent.

Hi Paul,

incredible photo "capture" with extraordinary colors. The moment is perfect and, thanks to the perfect focalization on the snake's head, it allows us to see even the most minute details. An image absolutely impeccable.

Scary for someone allergic to snake bite serum! :) A fascinating high quality image and well presented.

Again, beautifully rendered colours, plus a huuge lower jaw Paul, very informative with that obvious breathing hole, looks like a toothless manace...

Bonjour Paul,

Impressive image. Better not to look at it before going to bed. The POV creates all the drama of the image. The blue of its mouth is almost "fluorescent". Great shot and TFS.

Totally awesome, dude!
I SO enjoy your photos, both because of your subjects and your extreme skills in capturing them.
TFS. : )

striking and beautiful, TFS Ori

nice close-up! tfs.

Animal behavior really fascinates me (see mytheme),your work is added...

The South African vine snake is totally placid, lethargic . (I have to wait for somebody to climb my book shelves to tell you the proper name :-))

It is so well camouflaged, that many people get hold of a branch, not seeing the snake at all totally contrary fromyoursubject, and there isn't an antidote ...

Thanks for sharing this amazing capture
Warm regards

PS I dedicate your work to Bayram Gocmen
