[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A rare visitor to the UK, this Glossy Ibis (Plegadis falcinellus) became separated from a flock of twenty that flew into the country recently. Despite being a truly wild specimen, this individual seems remarkably tolerant of humans. At one point it was within 6 metres of me, and I could hear it feeding as it dug its bill into the muddy ground. Not even a group of 10 people jogging past disturbed it!

It was a real delight for me to see this species in the UK for the first time, and this shot of it preening in the sunshine was the icing on the cake :)

Kind Regards

Vinny www.vincentblood.com

Hello Vinny,
Nice to see a post from you again and what a surprise to see a Glossy Ibis from the UK!! You managed to get a really great capture of it preening itself and showing off its glossy plumage in the beautiful light. Excellent sharpness, lovely colours and well composed.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla
