These guys look rather familiar, I've been finding lots around here lately. Love the low POV and the exceptional detail you managed to capture. Your colors are always right on the money and you seem to have just the right knack for presenting an attractive composition.
You have helped me a lot in the past when it comes to color. I always think of your suggestions in previous critiques, and wonder if what I'm about to post is the true natural color. I have never tried mirror lock-up, but hopefully someday I will give it a try.

The reason why I love your gallery so much (even if you deleted a lot of interesting pics, unfortunately) is I always learn something new with every visit. For example: the funga of Europe and North America is a bit similar, there are hundreds, even thousands of species which live on both continents. But there are interesting species which live only on one - like this American bolete which I've never heard about before. Very nice species (excellent pic), it seems like it belongs to the Appendiculati section of the genera. Is it edible like others from the section?
The photo and the technique is simply brilliant. Stunning colors, excellent composition, top class sharpness and bg blur. One of the nicest bolete photos on the whole site. Bravo.
A couple of months ago I also managed to find a locally very rare bolete here: Xerocomus marekii (utara & Skála) Klofac. Identified by microscope. I'll share one of the photos later.
Have a nice weekend, friendly regards, László

Hi MF John,
Fine macro work, these Boletus group are perfectly sharp. These are also colorful and contrasts very nicely with the soft leafed background. The POV from relatively above is perfect for this as well.
TFS and have a nice Saturday evening MF!

very nice natural colour rendered here. The three always look exciting and special for the shot. The moist look gives a lovely taste.
Hope it is edible as its so wonderful, but people say a colourful one could be poisonous.
Good to look at a new fungi species.

I started shooting more fungi lately and discovered is is not easy to make good shots. This is so well captured in pristine details. The tone and perspective is beautifully composed and looking forward to see more uploads from you.
