[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary (Boloria selene). This is one of the smaller UK Fritillaries, and it favours woodland rides and clearings. The larvae feed on Viola. The adults are on the wing in April and May. It is uncommon and very localised. This was the first time I had seen this species, so I was pleased to see dozens of them at the site I visited!

I would also like to say a hello to all my TN friends. I have been extremely busy over the last three months which has left me with very little time for photography and posting. Unfortunately it does not look like things are going to get any easier in months to come, as my partner of 10 years is probably leaving me :(
I will still try and make at least one post a week.

Kind Regards

Vinny www.vincentblood.com

Hello Vinny,
An impressive capture of this lovely Fritillary in a very appealing composition. Excellent sharpness and lovely natural colours against a fine soft background. This is a common species in Sweden.
TFS and best regards, Ulla
