[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
hello, this red cardinal photo was taken last month of march,
today i decided to publish in TN and share it you,
of course the composition is not as good as like
the photo of the masters on TN (i will not give manes
to not forgive someone), it is not a terrible composition
but i like hes pose it is why i love this image

first i was in jpeg and my zoom of 300mm was doubled,
then the bird was not at that place of the branch,
he was more at the right of the photo and the bottom
of that branch, when i decided to take this photo
he was faster than me and he walked on the branch,
when i got the photo he was at the left of the image
and at his back they was the free space

and in photography, for framing (i think)
we have always to let place in front of the subject
(where he is looking or going) and not in his back

and in this photo because the cardinal decide
to walk on the branch my free place
was no more in front of him but in back of him

so this was a bad framing of the image,
it is why i decided to crop in Photoshop
more closer and to better frame the cardinal in the image

but doubling the zoom i loose quality
in the photo and crop more closer
i enlarge the imperfections of the composition
it is why this photo it is better to look it
a little bit from far of the screen

here is a link on the red cardinal

I love your note. It describes what we all face in trying to photograph birds. Actually I rarely even try! This is a fine post of a colorful bird that I wish lived on the west coast. The exposure and color are really nice and natural looking.

Thanks for Sharing

This looks Christmas like. I can say that right? America doesn't seem to like Christmas any more...some kind of politics and religion stuff...anyway a nice shot for me. I like it a lot on my new monitor!

Hello Asbed

A very good shot with very good visual impact. The thumbnail stands out in the gallery.
The lighting and colours are excellent.
Very good detail in the plumage, and the POV is well done.

Hi Asbed,
nice to see this wonderful red bird, you can't miss him.I have yet to see Cardinals here in Alberta and is my understanding there only has ever been one reported sighting years ago in the north. When I lived in Toronto I saw these birds very often and sure would like to see them again in the future so I can shoot photos of them.Your note says basically what I was thinking about the quality of this shot and what I would like to know is what program was used for post production work, curious is all.Tfs. Bob

Salut Asbed,

Bonjour Asbed,
Though this image is a little soft, this male Northern Cardinal is presented in a fine pose and taken from an excellent and unusual POV and you have the catchlight in the eye!

Hello Asbed,
Nature photography does try ones' patience at times, this is a good posting Asbed and you pointed out some of the small thing which would have made it a great image. The colors nad pose are excellent. Thank you Asbed for sharing.
