Hello Djuna
Welcome to Trek Nature
A really cute capture this Ebony Leaf Monkey. I can see why they call them Monkeys. Colours, detail and composition is really great. Interesting notes too.

Djuna, a fetching image. I had come across your name some years back when I was sent a Macropygia photo for ID. For some reason I thought you were Indonesian - perhaps your unusual name.
Not a photographer myself, but doing what I can do to preserve the habitat, not in Indonesia, but in the Philippines.

Hi Djuna,
Welcome to TN! This is a very cute photo, I don't believe I've seen this species before. Good POV, DOF and colours. I also like the composition of this image. TFS.
Cheers,

Hi Djuna, I read your letter on the Forum, and I like what you (as a newcomber to TN) said about Howard, his photos and the problems he is going through. Thank you.
You seem to realise how we, his old friends here on TN, feel about him and his worries right now. Thank you for your soft heart and understanding.
And that heart shows in your photo here and your notes. The little fellow is beautiful, and he is crying for his mama. And I love seeing that black tail hanging down - she may not be answering his cries, but she is very close at hand to him - it makes me smile.
Thank you
Janice

Hello Djuna,
What an interesting picture with excellent action caught and very original pose. I enjoyed reading those great notes too. This is a very nice and educative post. Welcome to TN and TFS,

This is special.
You've caught this little monkey in such a classic pose, with such a great natural background.
The image is nice and sharp, with wonderful colour.
You could possibly lower the blue levels a bit to cancel out some of the UV 'bleaching' effect, and restore a litle more of the natural greens etc.
A fantastic image though.
Well done.
Steve
Hi Djuna
I read your intro notes (and obviously saw an ID photo there) and then I saw this photo and I had to reflect for a moment to figure out which photo is the real you (talking about climbing a tree 9 years ago and never came down), but what convinced me was that this is only a baby. So, hopefully I came to the right conclusion (chuckle).
Allow me a moment to echo Janice's words on your contribution towards Howard's goodbye thread. You revealed discerning insight, showed profound humanity, and demonstrated thoughtful compassion. There is much to read in your statement: "I hope to improve the newbie response thus far by saying…"
The curiosity and the sometimes upside-down world of youth are refreshingly evident in this shot with the juvenile monkey. Btw, the workshop is a great improvement on the colour tones. Once again your notes are very informative and refreshing. Sometimes we tend to depend too heavily on 'Wikipedia' type of notes and inadvertently neglect to improvise and give an individual account of our experiences, but I like your personal touch.
Very well done and TFS.
Regards
Loot
PS. You may post a workshop on your own photo. Usually, but not exclusively, it would be done to provide some supplemental material. Alternatively you could do a "Repost" (for specific instances when some improvements/alterations were made to the original photo) which would place the original photo in the background and the repost would appear anew on the "Gallery". To be able to do this, you need to be in "Manage" mode (find this at the top right hand corner while you display your "Intro" page) and then you will see the "Re-post" tab. This way you will not lose any critiques or smileys already attached to the original and the reposted photo will gain its own new critiques and smileys.
