Que buena pose!
Me encanta el POV que usaste, poniendo como fondo el cielo azul...es una pose imponente.
Pareciera que nos muestra con orgullo sus alas para que las analicemos con ojos escrutadores...lo cual hacemos y nos encontramos con esos extraordinarios detalles captados, con suma claridad y nitidez, aprovechando esa abundante luz de que disponías y que muy bien manejaste con la compensación de la exposición.
Con el DOF conseguiste unos detalles difusos con las hojas del fondo que aportan variedad y riqueza visual a la foto.

Bueno no se lo que pasaría, pero es la segunda vez que te realizo este comentario o es que no dormí bien y no me entero.
Me parece una foto muy buena por el fondo tan bueno y en eso colaboró el día que no siempre ocurre y nos chafa las fotos. También me lo parece por el punto de vista tan bueno y la nitidez.... color.... saturación...... y si encima después veo que la tienes amaestrada y hasta se subió a tu mano pues que quieres que te diga que eres un "domador" de mariposas muy logrado... :-)

Hello Ricardo, the shadow is right underneath the butterfly: that means midday and for a photographer inconvenient high contrast. But it strikes me that you managed to get this one really well. The colours are well shown and sharpness and composition are outstanding. The low POVraises the impression we are dealing with a huge butterfly, which is nice. Thank for this lovely image,

A veces suelen ser amigables las mariposas. Creo que les ganamos por cansancio a los insectos. Una mariposa muy ajada, de color marron, se posò sobre mi càmara; pero esta sì que valiò la pena. Felicitaciones, y gracias por compartir estas maravillas.

What a splendid macro! This butterfly looks terrific here in your post!
I'm also very amused by the "competition" in the workshop posts on this one :))...what can i say...sometimes butterfly can be very kind and patient :)
The details here are really outstanding and i really like the DOF, too.
The colors are very rich and saturated and that makes the butterfly even more beautiful and gives a superb BG with that blue sky.
The light is great, too, as well as the composition.
In fact...a clasic RAP macro ;)

Y después dices... esta mariposa y tú, si hubieras estado más adelantado te hubieras colocado a su lado y juntos podríais mirar el paisaje.
Es un punto de vista bastante original. Los detalles son estupendos, el fondo bastante difuso como para que la protagonista se luzca con todas sus galas.

Sometimes the limit of 20 critiques per days deprives one of the fun and joy of yapping away at everything one finds of great interest here on the TN each day.
That, perhaps, is the reason why my critique of this beautiful butterfly image is finding a place two days after you posted it.
Coming to the point, it is a stunningly beautiful image of the subject captured against a deep blue sky. It is perfect in every respect and a sheer delight to look at.

Hi Ricardo

Ha, I thought this must be a tame ‘domesticated’ butterfly and your ‘peculiar workshop’ proves that all too well (chuckle). No, I’m just pulling your leg my friend. This is an amazing shot and you show the butterfly in all its wonderful beauty.

The composition is excellent and I know cloning is not permitted, but you must have been very tempted to try and remove those OOF leaves in the BG. The colours are absolutely stunning and well saturated. The details are superb and extremely well defined with every feature and texture clearly visible. The blue sky BG worked perfectly and the exposure was totally spot-on. I fancy your fading border as well.

Wow Ricardo this is good. A very special butterfly photo from you.

Technical Quality:

Just perfect. You've combined good camera work with skill and awareness of position to get this great shot. I love the rich colours and the fab detail and texture on the feathers. The blue sky is lush and acts as a fine background.
The light is rather bright but not too unforgiving in the shadows where we are still presented with detail for example, the head. Depth of field is nice and blurs the background leaves excellently, not much you could really do with the other antenna, it would be hard to get it completely sharp I think with out bringing the rest of background into focus more.
The contrast is superb and is effective in making the butterfly stand out. Exposure wise I think you've done a grand job of getting everything balanced with such bright sunshine.

Composition:

Couldn't be better. This is worthy of full frame filling status and you have done it well. I like your lower viewpoint which seems to accentuate the size even more. Simple placement of the subject near centre and the larger space on the right is a great addition letting the subject breathe as we say.

Emotional Appeal:

Catches the eye and draws you in to the never-ending detail that exists in wings. You've presented this shot in a very simple yet highly effective way. The delicate nature of the butterfly is clearly shown here in a memorable shot.
