[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
3rd of several photographs taken over the New Zealand Alps enroute from Christchurch to Sydney. Taken slightly west of the 2nd image that I have posted. The majority of the snow on the mountains is less than 48 hours old.

Hi John. Beautiful photo. Unusually for such a shot, the composition is very strong with the central group of mountains standing separate from the surrounds. If the whole scene was covered with snow this would have been just another shot :)
What height were you at when you took this, and was it through a standard plane's window?

Hi John, you show the rivers here and I find that very interesting. I have read stories about the rivers that sometimes cover all the flat land, and another day is only a trickle.
