WAx Eye Zosterops lateralis

Moari Name Tauhou.

Self introduced into New Zealand mid 1880s.
Smaller than a House Sparrow and have a bright white ring around the eye hence the name Wax or Silver Eye.
They lay 3-4 eggs which are pale blue.
Widely distributed throughout New Zealand.

Beautiful close-up photo of this cute bird,
excellent details of its plumage, I don't no
what was the light conditions but I see in
your exifs ISO1600, I think it is too much,
the POV and the way you framed are very fine
and with a beautiful eye-contact, TFS

Hello David,
What a pretty little bird you have captured in this photo. I must admit I'm not familiar with it at all, but your image shows it off very well. I love the unique colors in it's plumage and it's bold white eye ring. Great work!!
