The Western Bobtail (Tiliqua rugosa rugosa) is a fearsome but harmless skink found in the drier southern regions of mainland Australia. It is known by many local names: the blue-tongue lizard, the shingleback lizard, the sleepy lizard, the two-headed lizard and the pine cone lizard, to name just a few.

What a cool photo! I love the colors!

Nice shot !
Interesting colors on this lizard... not only the tongue, but also the scheme on his body. He's hiding pretty well on the background !

This is a great shot Shel.
Well timed and well exposed considering the harsh light.
Do all Aussie lizards have blue tongues .... or only the ones containing Psilocybin ;)
