[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We were staying at a very isolated place reached by 100km of dirt road. There is a superb gorge there (see my TrekEarth photos). We were staying in a cabin (it had been accommodation for the Sydney Olympics in 2000).
A butcher bird lived nearby and on one evening as we sat outside enjoying a glass of wine came up and sat there serenading us with beautiful and varied song. Butcher birds are also quite good at immitating other birds.
He sat there singing for so long that I had time to go and get my macro lens.

Hi Ian,very nice face to face with this species not often seen on TN,a perfect capture despite the distance and the difficult location too. Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hi Ian,

The branches are framing well the bird. The point of view is showing the details of the Butcher Bird. The light is bringing out the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.
