The Yellow Honeyeater (Lichenostomus flavus) is a medium sized (18cm) nectar-eating bird confined to far north-eastern Australia. They inhabit a range of habitats from rainforest margins to open woodland along watercourses, mangroves and urban gardens. They can be locally common but their distribution is quite patchy and probably related to the local abundance of flowering flants that produce enough nectar to support them.
They are gregarious in areas of abundant food and I found them to be quite numerous in Townsville Common.

Hello Chris,
Another Queensland beauty, this time a Yellow Honeyeater!
Excellent sharp capture from a fine POV of another species that we saw in the bushes but didn't succeed in photographing.
Thanks for sharing this superb well-composed image to tell me that it can be done!
Cheers,
Ivan

Beautiful shot of thois Honeyeater Chris.
It reminds me a bit of our Bellbirds here.
Does it have much of a singing voice?
A nice clear shot with great colour.
Cheers
Steve
