[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This one shows Orchid Beach on the north eastern tip of Hinchinbrok Island. Hinchinbrok is part of the GBR Marinepark and totally protected. A maximum of 40 people per day are allowed to be on the island and it is a huge island, apprx. 37 KM long and 10 KM wide with high peaks up to the 1127 m Mt. Bowen which is the second highest mountain of Queensland. Flora and fauna are untouched and display how all the coast in North Queensland looked like before it was destroyed by european settlers who removed 95 % of the rainforest in order to grow cane sugar and introduced many pests like rats and frogs. |

Hi Thomas,
This would also be my fav. beach as well. It looks like nature rules at this one and it is great to hear that only 40 people are allowed. I realy lime the beach part and ocean part of this photo but I am having some problems with the dark tree line and OE sky. Did you do any PP work on this photo? Because it looks like you added too much contrast.
TFS,
Niek

Very nice beach ! I'm glad to know that this will not be crowded by tourists like most of beautiful beaches. I like this small wave rolling on the sand, in the foreground. Well done !
Valérie.

Hello Thomas,
This beach is perfect for me too! I really like your composition and pov! It is funny to see the wave rolling over the sand. TFS,
Michel
Hello Thomas,
The composition, seafoam and sand in your photo are super, IMHO : ) but I have to agree with Niek about the OE sky and UE trees. I think if you had pp the three parts of the image seaparately it would be fantastic. It is a hard scene to expose correctly in the field. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful beach with us.
