[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
At the Palo Alto rookery, I spotted this nest with 4 snowy egret chicks.
Unfortunately one of the parent stood smack in front of the nest, blocking my view. I had to wait for over half an hour before the parent stepped to the side, allowing me a few minutes of shooting opportunities.

The male selects a breeding area. Both the male and female build the nest. The male collects the materials and the female does the constructing. The nest is made of reeds and twigs and is placed in a bush or on the ground. The female lays three to five eggs and both parents share incubation duties. The eggs hatch in about three weeks. Both parents care for the chicks and feed them regurgitated food. The chicks fledge when they are about a month old.

what a cute shot of the egret family, manyee! :-)
this is one for the family album. *g*
great composition and pov of the big and small egrets,
good poses and nice details - the parent does not pay too much
attention to his chicks while they are all focussing on
something to the left.
well seen & captured, thorsten.

What a patience you have Manyee. Well rewarded with this beautiful family shot.
What is a rookery ? Is it some animal park, or a natural reserve. Are you free to walk around?
Well done and TFS
