[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
While hiking along the Kanawa River I spotted this Pipevine Swallowtail in an old stream bed. It had just stopped raining and the butterfly appeared to be getting minerals or maybe just moisture from the wet rocks.

The butterfly normally is a bit skittish and keeps its distance, but at this moment it didn't seem to mind me getting close enough for a photo or two.

Hi Ron
This is a beauty. The contrast in the background is very attractive. Sharp picture. Thanks a loot for sharing.

Hi Ron,

It's been a while since I visited TN. Tack sharp shot of the pipevine. In my experience, this species is more than a little skittish. Glad it decided to light for a while.

Beautiful species of Swallowtail, Ron.
Amazing light management to obtain such fine details and colors not only on the subject but also on the background.
Warm regards.

Impressive sharpness, nice colors and a pleasant background.

Hi Ron,

The butterfly is well placed in the frame. The point of view is showing the details of the Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly. The good luminosity is enhancing the colours. Have a nice day.
