I took this photo a few minutes ago through the window over my computer. I just thought the little darling was adorable.

Meet the Black-crested Titmouse (Baeolophus atricristatus). For a long time they were considered the same species as the Tufted Titmouse but recently differences in DNA were noted.

From http://www.birds.cornell.edu
"A bird of Texas and northeastern Mexico, the Black-crested Titmouse is common in oak woods and towns. It was once considered a subspecies of the Tufted Titmouse, and the two species are very similar in appearance, voice, and habits."

I agree - so cute!! I am jealous that you have them in your backyard!!! It is a superb photo for having to "grab" it suddenly. Looks like you're having a gorgeous day, to boot!!

Hello Angy,
What a capture! This shot has everything including a fine subject, a bird not often seen on TN. Great composition, POV, sharpness and lighting.

Hi Angelina.
What a beauty you managed to caught. Wonderful scene and superb composition. I like impressive sunlight and excellent exact colours. DOF is great. Details of the feathers, legs, glance of the bird and twigs are reproduced nicely. Some noise on the blue sky image is noticeable but it can remove easily. Bravo and best regards.

Hi Angy,

A superb shot of this titmouse - a bird I have not seen here. The pose on the diagonal branch is wonderful. Beautiful colors and sharp details showing off his face, crest and plummage. That blue sky looks familiar.

Yay... you are back. I can't believe how good this turned out considering the window and all. I hope you can see this again sometime outside. It is a real adorable bird, and would be nice to see more of. Good job Angy..see you soon.

Hi Angelina,
A very nice capture of this titmouse which looks like a bulbul. Very well captured with nice blue sky as BG. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Oh...! What a sweet bird! You are lucky to have been able to capture it so nicely! We have Tufted Titmouse here as well but they are very, very shy and I never managed a good picture of them :( A few days ago I saw them again but they are so fast moving that there was no way I could take a good shot... This is a very nice composition with great colors and beautiful sky. I have never seen this specific specie before. Thanks,

Dear Angelina,
I've never seen this species up here in Canada.
If it were slightly bigger I'd call it a BUL-BUL, a beautifully SINGING species from the middle East.
GREAT register.
Notes... short but well done.
Warm regards from still 0*C in Calgary,

Nice shot. Great colours and sharpness. The only problem it seems is the high level of noise. (I use neatimage for reducing noise, it is quite effective) Otherwise the bright colours and the sparkle in the eye look great.
