[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It took me a few tentatives before I could get closed to those birds. We finally foud a couple that would tolerated are approach.
Note from the Field Guide to Alberta Birds.
Magpies are common in all natural regions except the Canadian Shield in extreme north-eastern Alberta.Highest number are in the parkland & grassland.More & more they are being seen in the north as land is cleared & livestock raised

Wonderful shot her of one of my favorite birds. It's quite a beautiful bird, and you have captured it quite well with some very nice composition, too. Really interesting to capture it from behind and I like the shadow from it's tail. It's got a fuzzy head, too!

Hola Michel. Saludos Luis52.

Hello Michel,
Fine capture of a N. American Magpie. Interesting POV, sharp, good lighting and well composed.
This species is visually almost identical to the European but I believe genetically quite different.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan

Bravo
Marie

I like the unique pose you captured in this shot. It really shows off the wonderful long tail. I admire all of you birders with the patience to wait for a good opportunity. Perfect exposure and nice sharpness.

Hi Michel, splendid bird in inusual pose, good light and colors, great sharpness and lovely details, very well done, ciao Silvio

Quel bel oiseau Michel!

Pierre

Hello Michel,
They are lovely birds, and smart too!
I have a couple living near my house coming for bread each morning, and they keep bigger birds like gulls and crows easily away, I have even seen them deal with a squirrel...
Good details in the plumage here, and I like how he looks at you over the shoulder!
Greetings,
Pablo -
