... was Happy St.Patrick's Day
... also The Ides of March ...

Today I looked very hard for a fitting shot. I needed something GREEN.
It is after all St Patrick's Day... Here is my toast to all my Trek friends:
... " May you be in heaven, before the devil knows you are dead...

Now on the subtitle, the Ides of March ... that is a wee harder.
There is a lot to see in this photo. The assassin - Hurricane Juan -
had killed my Caesar - my only pinetree - with a stab in the back!
What a brutus Juan was!
As a reminder I have left the stump of said pinetree in my bushfeld.
< It's there in the m/g; I will post a closeup in WS later. >

But here is the good news... Small offspring of the pinetree are already growing again!!! < See the soft green blurs from the lowerleft side to the stump. I will post another closeup in WS later. >

So my friends allow me another toast: Nachayim!
PSt I need to find some green beer now!

And finally the puzzle of the day: can anyone tell me
what plant/bush/tree the green buds belong to?



PS Photo taken < on March 15th > in macromode, handheld;
scaled according to the 1/3rd rule ;) to fit TN.

Compo: I wanted to leave a bit of dull sky on and show the darker evergreen trees above the bare bushes and hedges.
The only thing "alive" at this point would seem to be the evergreens... Most other plants, shrubs, bushes, etc. are still trying to shake off the long hibernation... Yesterday and today we had freezing rain.

Hi Jay.
Very interesting work and creative idea. Using macro mode is unusual and impressive. I like pictured scenery, great DOF, nice and excellent detailed twig and very impressive tree on the right side of the shot. It seems to me BG is not the best but this is matter of taste. My best wishes, TFS and only points tomorrow.

Hello Jay,
clear signs of spring arriving with a well told story. But finding out which kind of plant the green buds belong to - I think I will have to ask you to post another view of that location in four to six weeks. Right now it is just a guess saying elder (Sambucus canadensis), or lilac.

Maybe you should have used your green thumb. You have so many different kinds of plant,trees and shurbs to choose from.But thank you for thinking of the Irish holiday.

Do you know that St Patrick was saint before splitting of Catholics and Orthodox, and some of Americans living here, in Petersburg, celebrating it together with their local friends? I was surprised to know it, funny thing. Good photo, this.
