This fulmars is taked in the Frida island in Scotland,
whee fulmars are now a commond sight around most sea cliffs in Britain, but this has not always been so.
The numbers of fulmars have undergone an amazing expansión during the last hundred year or so. Before 1878, the only British colony was remote island de St. Kilda, 200 km from mainland Scotland, but since then the have spread right arounnd our coasts. Ther may have been helped by the fishing industry because the feed on offal thrown from boats.
Fulmars do not breed until at least sis yerar old and lay only one egg each year, but they have long lives , regularly reaching 30 años years or more.

La foto de este fulmar esta realizada en la Isla de Frida (Escocia) y es de nuestro último viaje de vacaciones en el mes de julio pasado y que por falta de tiempo no puede repasar todas y cada una de las fotos de ese viaje hasta ahora.
Bueno este fulmar es una especie que no es que sea muy abundante, pero que esta en aumento sus poblaciones. En concreto sólo se podía encontrar una colonia de cría en la Isla de Santa Kilda y esto es del año 1878.
Pero gracias a los descartes pesqueros estas aves encuentran alimento suficiente para poder sobrevivir.
El fulmar es un ave que puede tener una longevidad superior a los 30 años, pero por el contrario sus puestas son exclusivamente de un solo huevo.

bonita foto , el enfoque está bien conseguido en el cuerpo de la gaviota, los colores son muy naturales y el pájaro resalta sobre el fondo borroso

Nice in-flight shot of the Fulmar and good info. You have captured the straight wing position characteristic of Fulmars very well. Gulls fly with bent wings. The tube nose looks good too.

Deliciosa esta foto, el fondo azul y el fulmar en blanco es perfecto... Mical quedó muy agradecida, muchas gracias y ten un buen dia.

Cada día superas la del anterior, ya sea que estén posadas o volando, quedan perfectas.
Muy buenos detalles, a pesar de la dificultad de la toma, siendo el blanco el color que predomina en el ave...

Me gusta esta foto, estoy deseando hacer alguna tan nitida comoesta con el ave en vuelo.
La explicacion es muy buena,ahora ya se que se llama fulmar.
