Hello my Friends!
Continuing trip across Bulgaria, today I would like to invite you to NW part of this beautiful country :>

This time we are in mountain area of Belogradchik to see amazing rocks formed from versicoloured Triassic sandstones and conglomerates.

The length of this area is about 30 km and its width is some 3 km. Many of the rocks have very unique shapes similar to people, towers, ships, mushrooms, obelisks, palaces, and different animals. Most remarkable are Pine Stone, Adam and Eve, Sphinx, Nun, Bear, and many others.
Thanks to the very unique character of this place, the rocks of Belogradchik are presently protected as natural monument.

But the rocks of Belogradchik have also one more, very special and historical role. On the basis of stone and rock natural walls the fortress was built in this place by the Ottoman conquerors. It was built on the remains of the Roman fortress. It was used for the last time during the Serbian-Bulgarian War of 1885 and presently it has been restored and arranged as an open-air museum.

And last, but not least I would like to dedicate this picture to Krzysztof (cataclysta).

Hi Radek

Another very beautiful short story from one more beautiful trip you took. All these pictures you arfe taking from all this lovely places just make me want to go there (Bulgaria and then south) more and more :)
Who knows...maybe next spring/summer together ?:)?

Anyway, another superb landscape and a very interesting main subject - those various rock formations. The contrast here between the colors of the rocks, the green of the plants and the blue of the sky create such a eye-pleasing scene!
Very nice perspective to the horizon and superb composition, too.

Bravo and TFS

Radomir;
Again some wonderful geology in this picture. And history as well. Quite the lesson. You already have my wife going to the textbooks! Great image.

Hi Radomir,
Beautiful scene this is and you have captured it in all its glory. The rock formations looks awesome and the eyes travel to those distant mountains traversing such fantastic landscapes. Czesc Radziu
Na poczatek wielkie dzieki za dedykacje. Mam nadzieje ze wiesz co wyglada wiesz jak. Ciesze sie ze znow bawisz sie na treknature - mysle ze to dobry pomysl.
Belogradchik to swietne miejsce. Podoba mi sie niebo z delikatnymi chmurami. Kompozycja jest bardzo dobra. Dwie skaly na pierwszym planie a w tle cale piekno okolicy. Wszystko ladnie oswietlone.
Pozdrawiam :-)

Czesc Radek!

Moje (zupelnie inne) ujecie dokladnie tego samego tematu sprzed paru lat - tutaj - zreszta przekombinowane z ostroscia i w B&W bo samo zdjecie bylo nienajlepsze technicznie.
Serdecznosci,
Michal

Hi Radomir,
WOW!! Excellent vista with an outstanding POV. Very well composed with great color.

Witaj Radomirze,
Wszystko tutaj przemyślane w najdrobniejszych nawet szczegółach. Piękne światło tylno bocznego ujęcia, bardzo ładnie odwzorowane szczegóły dzięki znakomitej ostrości. Dobrze wyważone kontrasty pogłebiają czytelność zdjęcia.
Pozdrawiam serdecznie,

WOW!!!!
What a beautiful and outstanding landscape!!! What a marvellous shot!!! What a perfect POV and fantastic composition!!! All praises are few for it. I love it!
This area of Belogradchik reminds me a bit of La Pedriza, here in Madrid, but even more rich and luxurious. Those rocks on the right give a astounding touch of beauty to the composition.
Magnificent job, my friend!
Thank you very much for it!
Greetings
Maite

Czesc Radku,
Fantastyczna kompozycja.
Bardzo mi sie podoba 3D tego zdjecia, wyrażny pierwszy, drugi i trzeci plan. Takimi fotkami możesz mi zamieszać w planach wakacyjnych bo Bułgari w najbliższym czasie nie planowałem. :)
Wszyskiego najlepszego w Nowym Roku 2008.
