I took these owl, two year ago during a visit at Knokke Zoute a lovely nature reservate

Sorry I write not perfect English, sorry for the errors in the note.

There are many differences in body size between the sexes.
The average male is about 60 to 64cm high and has a wingspan of 159cm a 155.
Females are stronger and broader in the shoulders with a height of about 65 a 68cm and a wingspan of 170cm a 165.
The Eagle Owl is his size, his massive body and large head with no Females are already resting on a vantage point almost immediately by their slightly drooping plumage, that "too big" appears.
Males are generally an "athletic" impressed with wings tightly to the body worn.
Other owl species in Europe to be confused.
Typically the face of the Eagle Owl eyes are large and often long ear plumes.
The eye color ranges from bright yellow to fiery orange.
The ear plumes are predominantly black in color and are formed by a group of feathers by a single muscle moved on the head.
The beak is black and is sunk with feather in a skin fold, to the throat.
The plumage is predominantly yellow-brown in color with black accents.
The black accents on the back and enter the top of the wings the most forward.
The breast is the characteristic bubo yellow ocher.
The legs of the bubo end in sharply clawed toes.
The claws are on average about 2 a 4 cm long and are capable of very different prey.

I hope you enjoy

Hi John,
Fantastic portrait of the Eagle Owl, great composition and natural colors. You're lucky to capture this rare bird on such high level (I mean rare in Hungary, 10 or so pairs are living here). Beautiful pose, and the way You used the dry pine branch as a complementer theme is fabulous. Excellent work MF, bravo.
Friendly regards, have a nice Sunday, Lszl

Hallo John,
Erg mooie foto.

Hola Juan (Your name in Spanish)
Lovely pose, Just for You and TN. I really like his red eyes, and the color of his feathers. The pine tree makes this photo even better.

Hello John,
A great shot of this particular owl showing it's beautiful plumage in fine detail. The camouflaged coloration and large eyes are simply striking.
Even though I know we have many owls here in Ohio they are seldom seen, because they are mostly nocturnal. I love to be out at night and hear their unique hooting calls. There just seems to be something magical and yet errie about their unusual sounds.

Hi John,
very special shot of this owl. The pose is very lively and pretty. The colours of the plant is very similar to that of the owl feathers.
Very special pattern of the feather and the texture of the rock make it so pleasant.
