Hi Peter! Wahrscheinlich ist es das erste Mal, dass diese Art TN genannt wird. Ich weine, weil ich kein solches Glück gehabt habe, aber ich bin nicht auf diese Höhe geklettert, und von Hochgebirgsfliedern habe ich nur einen alten Polyommatus-Eros gefunden. Toller Post und eine beeindruckende Qualität, der beste Weg, dieses unerwartete und glückliche Treffen zu nutzen. Ich hoffe, andere Schmetterlinge von Ihrer Reise zu sehen. Danke und gute Woche! Lieber Peter,
wenn Luciano Dich auf deutsch beglückwünscht, dann ist dies etwas Besonderes. Ich schliesse mich ihm gerne an. Da ist zunächst die perfekte Wiedergabe der Weisstöne. Dann Dein Gespür für das Licht. Ich habe auch auf Deine Ausrüstung geschielt, obwohl Du durchaus fähig wärst, auch mit einer löchrigen Konservenbüchse noch gute Ergebnisse zu erzielen :-)
Ich war mit dem Fahrrad im Juni 2015 in Stepantsminda und habe mich über die ziemlich abgeweidete Natur gewundert. In den Seitentälern wie Sno wurde es dann lieblich. Parnassius wäre mir wohl aufgefallen, dafür blühten die weissen und gelben Alpenrosen.

Immer wieder schön ein typisches Stoecklbild zu sehen. Und dazu eine Rarität, das macht das Posting noch wertvoller.

Mit dem Frühling, der vor der Tür steht, wirst du wohl wieder die schönen Pulsatillen besuchen und die ersten Schmettetlinge werden sich auch zeigen.Werde auch versuchen wieder ein wenig aktiver zu sein.

This is very nice picture of a beautiful butterfly. The buttefly is sharp with very fine details, you also manage to get the white right. The BF stand out well from the blurry BG.
It must be a cousin to Clouded Apollo Parnassius mnemosyne.

Hi Peter,
It seems the species which got their scientific name after the Finnish zoologist/botanist Alexander von Nordmann are all living in the Caucasus - this butterfly, the fir species Abies nordmanniana or the bird black-winged pratincole (Glareola nordmanni). Nice to see the Eastern brother of our P. apollo, especially in such quality. I remember when I photographed P. mnemosyne that it was very difficult to shoot well, as the textures on the white parts always seemed grainy. This is the case here, too, but you managed to sort it out quite well, and the smooth green background is a perfect opposite of the grainy-alike bright wings. A masterpiece to say the least. Congratulations!

Excellent exposure allows us to see detail in the whites that is so often lost. Great focus and DOF.
