Another Jackal / Ring-necked Dove encounter during our 2012 Etosha visit. As mentioned before it was taken over a distance of 98.3 meters and I am the first to say, “Not 100% in focus”. I just had to share it with you, my nature friends.
Considerable cropping was done and Shadow/Highlight adjustment as the light was not all that good in the early morning. What amazed me was the Dove taking off so quickly that the water is still dripping from its bill, the water droplets in the air and the Jackal’s hard braking (mud in the air) not to make contact with the water as in my previous uploads.
As you well know the focus could have either been on the jackal or the Dove. In this case I had tried to focus on the Jackal which was about the same size as my red focus point of the camera.
Enjoy and comments are welcome.

Hi Carl
Great action shot (one more) of this Jackal.Great timing, wonderful colours and great sharpness on focus.I think a little higher ISO could result better but only comparing for the same moment. Thank You.
Have a good day!
Best regards

Hello Carl,
Another interesting action shot from you, looks like you have your own little coyote roadrunner duo there in Africa. I definitely see what you mean by the mud flying from the jackal and the water drops on the dove..how neat is that!! Great capture!!
